New airline in TRNC

The new domestic airline will be launched on March 10 and will make its first flight on April 16, Public Works and Transport Minister Erhan Arıklı said, Kibris Postasi reported.
Referring to Bayrak, the Cyprus News Agency reported that the Cabinet of Ministers decided to authorize the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Finance to open a national airline in the TRNC, which will make a significant contribution to the country's economy, in particular in the field of tourism and education, and will reduce the cost of air tickets.
Public Works and Transport Minister Erhan Arikli said the airline will be called "Mavi Girne Havayolları" (Blue Kyrenia Airlines).
He added that initially the airline will have five aircraft, and plans to increase their number in the future. He said that the first flight will be sent to Trabzon.
