The court of Kyrenia has confirmed the right of citizens to free use of beaches

A recent ruling by the District Court of Kyrenia confirmed that the public has a constitutional right to free access to beaches.
The activist Nazan Şansal from the Baraka Cultural Center and the Independence Path member Yusuf Ozgyu Certel on behalf of the eight campaigners who were denied free access to the Cratos beach in Chatalkee in July 2015 took legal action.
