Art Festival at Museums of the Middle East!
This year, Ramadan coincided with the weekend, during which you can combine business with pleasure by visiting the museums of the Middle East Foundation. The Cyprus Museum of Modern Art, the Cyprus Automobile Museum, the Cyprus Museum of Herbarium and Natural History and the City Fortress Museum are waiting for their guests throughout the Ramadan holiday.
Ship models, sculptures and paintings, knives and swords, clothes, handmade glass artifacts, jewelry and many other works from different cultures and eras can be seen in the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art, which includes 50,000 works of art by 3,000 artists from 14 different Turkish communities.
Over 150 different vehicles are on display at the Cyprus Automobile Museum, the oldest of which is the 1901 Crest Mobile. Along with this car, which is the only one in the world, in the museum you can see cars from all periods of a century of history, from the beginning of the 20th century to the beginning of the 21st century. Also, the Cyprus Automobile Museum offers children to have fun with toys made from various car parts, car models, pedal cars, Batman and transformers figures, and much more.
The Cyprus Museum of Herbarium and Natural History, which was created as a result of more than 20 years of scientific research, awaits you with 250,000 plants and living organisms, as well as geological samples of Cyprus dating back more than 20 million years ago. The museum contains 11 thousand plant species, 1500-1600 of which are found in Cyprus, and 140 plant species of which are unique and can only be found in Cyprus.
The city museum-fortress, located opposite the Kyrenia Gate, which reflects the history and culture of Cyprus, presents art lovers with a huge variety of exhibits. The City Museum-Fortress displays more than 3 thousand works of art and artifacts: swords and knives, toy cars, Turkish Cypriot sculptures, paintings, letters and edicts, Cadian registers belonging to Nicosia, and carpets of the 17th century.
