Three tombs dating back to the Middle Bronze Age were discovered during excavations during the construction of a swimming pool in a residential complex in Alsancak.

The technical group of the Kyrenia branch of the Department of Antiquities and Museums took under protection the territory where historical burials were discovered and began excavations.

Artifacts from the Middle Bronze Age, consisting of terracotta jugs, metal spearheads, buckles, nails and pins, were found in three tombs during a 5-day excavation in the area, BRT reports.

The historical artifacts discovered during the excavations were delivered to the Kyrenia branch of the Department of Antiquities and Museums and taken under protection.
