Victory Day.
Victory Day (Zafer Bayrami) is an official national holiday that is celebrated annually on August 30 in the Republic of Turkey and the TRNC in memory of the offensive, which ended with the victory on August 30, 1922 in the Battle of Dumlupinar under the command of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
The holiday was first celebrated in 1924 in the city of Afyon under the name "Victory of the Commander-in-Chief", and since 1926 August 30 has been celebrated in the Republic of Turkey and in Northern Cyprus as Victory Day.
