The sole athlete from the TRNC is set to compete at the Paris Olympics on August 2, participating in the high jump for the Turkish team.

This high jump event with the Turkish Cypriot competitor is scheduled for August 2, at 11:00 AM, at Stade de France.

Buse Savaşkan, who was born on February 24, 1999, in Cyprus, initiated her international athletics career at the European Athletics U20 Championships in Tbilisi in 2016.

The Northern Cypriot athlete, previously reported to be 28th in the world rankings, has qualified among the top 32 athletes to participate in the Olympic high jump. She is coached by Ukrainian expert Gennadiy Zuyev.

The Turkish squad, comprising 102 athletes, will vie for medals at the Paris Olympics.

Mete Gazoz, Turkey's first Olympic gold medalist in archery from the Tokyo 2020 Games, and Busenaz Sürmeneli, an Olympic boxing champion from Japan, will be the flag bearers for the Turkish delegation.
