Interesting find.

During the restoration work begun in the Ancient Harbor of Kyrenia, an old railway was discovered.

Railway tracks built in 1897 to transport stones and goods are reported to have been used in the construction of the Kyrenia harbor and the repair of the damaged Kafer Aga Mosque dating from the 1580s.

Kyrenia Mayor Murat Shenkul said the old railway would attract the attention of local residents and visitors to the island, and that it could be partially seen by making the floor glass. Şenkul also said that "in the near future, Kyrenia Ancient Harbor will be the place we all look forward to visiting again and again."
