North Cyprus is set to initiate data collection on passengers arriving and departing the country

North Cyprus is set to initiate data collection on passengers arriving and departing the country. Starting Monday, July 15, the "Passenger Identification Survey" will be implemented at all TRNC entry points.

The survey aims to "identify passenger profiles by gathering information on their country of residence, nationality, visit purpose, and primary language," laying the groundwork for the "Departing Passenger" and "Incoming Resident" surveys planned for 2025.

Initially, the "Passenger Identification Survey" will target all individuals entering or exiting the TRNC via airports, seaports, and land border crossings. Survey personnel will operate 24/7 at these locations, conducting face-to-face interviews with the aid of tablets.

This initiative is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, the Central Bank, and the Statistical Institute.

The agencies have jointly declared that this initial survey phase, spanning from July to December 2024, will establish the sampling methods for subsequent data analysis.

For optimal survey results, official support is essential. Moreover, feedback or complaints about the survey can be submitted to 6013000 - 6013001 or info@stat.gov.ct.tr, as per the announcement.
