North Cyprus is set to host the Arda Erkan memorial kitesurfing tournament
The 10th anniversary of the kitesurfing tournament will be held in North Cyprus to honor the memory of Arda Erkan, who tragically became a victim of drug traffickers nine years ago. This year's commemorative sports event is scheduled for June 29-30 at Heaven Surf House in Yedidalga.
Organized under the slogan "Don't let Arda die for others," the event is supported by the Prime Minister's Anti-Drug Commission and the Heaven Surf Club.
"Arda may not be with us in body, but his spirit continues to shine, guiding our youth and society," said the organizers in their statement.
The tournament's goal is to raise awareness about drug issues, engage families, children, and the youth in sports, and direct their energies positively.
The statement from Arda Erkan's family extends an invitation to all kitesurfers and the community to participate in this meaningful event, to honor Arda's memory and support the battle against drugs.
