New Minimum Wage Rate in Northern Cyprus

The Commission for Determining the Minimum Wage has set the first salary of 2024 in Northern Cyprus. The new minimum wage in the TRNC is 24,000 Turkish lira net.

TRNC Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Sadik Gardiyanoglu, announced that the minimum wage, effective from January 1, 2024, was determined unanimously at the second meeting. The new minimum wage is 24,000 Turkish lira per month net and 27,587 Turkish lira gross. Gardiyanoglu noted that the minimum wage is set at 159.15 Turkish lira per hour, 1,273.24 TRY per day, and 6,366.23 TRY per week.

Gardiyanoglu thanked both employers and workers, noting that their representatives saw the fruits of their calls for compromise ahead of the minimum wage meeting.

He also mentioned that about three weeks ago, the Council of Ministers of Northern Cyprus decided to determine the minimum wage in the TRNC every four months.
