The 2023-2024 school year has begun in schools.
The 2023-2024 school year began today in schools belonging to the Department of Primary Education of the Ministry of Public Education. Classes will begin tomorrow in schools belonging to the Department of General Secondary Education and the Department of Vocational Education.
About 25,000 students from 126 public and private schools under the Department of Basic Education, as well as about 23,000 middle and high school students from 48 public and private schools under the Department of General Secondary Education, will begin the new school year.
The school year will also begin for 4,000 secondary vocational school students studying in 12 schools affiliated to the Department of Vocational Education, as well as 400 students studying at the Taner Akkan Vocational and Adult Education Center.
About 6 thousand teachers work in public and private schools in Northern Cyprus.
Report cards for Semester I will be issued on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, and the semester holidays will last from February 1 to 15.
The second semester will begin on Friday 16 February. Distribution of report cards and certificates of completion of the academic year will take place on Friday, June 14th.
