New public transport system in Northern Cyprus.

Kyrenia will be the pilot region.

Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı received a delegation from the Association of Public Transport Operators (Kar-İş) chaired by Fuat Topaloglu and a delegation from the Cypriot Turkish Public Transport Association (KTTTB) led by Bekir Beksan Akandere. The reception was also attended by the Director of the Department of Road Traffic Ahmet Aydin.

The meeting discussed a new public transport system that "will be safe, sustainable and equipped with modern technology."

As part of the project, it is planned to create a structure in which all operators will have their share, the state will be separated from the sector and assume a controlling role, and transport companies will decide whether to unite within a company or a cooperative.

- A complete service will be provided by convenient and safe unified vehicles, smart stops and an application in which you can follow the bus schedule from your mobile phone. We are obliged to provide this service, which will solve the transport problem of people and eliminate transport chaos in our cities, the Minister of Public Works and Transport summed up.
