Poker tournaments are taking place in Northern Cyprus

The European Poker Tour, the world's premier tourism organization, hosted a tournament this year in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. From October 11 to 22, 2023, the EPT conducted an international poker tournament at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel, the newest addition to the Merit Hotels chain in the TRNC. It is estimated that over five thousand tourists from sixty different countries visited Northern Cyprus to take part in the poker tournament.

Hotels in the regions of Kyrenia, Alsancak, and Lapta were bustling with tourists from around the globe, much to the delight of Northern Cyprus merchants at the season's close. The tourists, arriving in large contingents for the tournament, engaged in cultural excursions, organized events amidst the TRNC's splendid natural scenery, and enjoyed shopping in the heart of Kyrenia outside of tournament hours.
