Northern Cyprus and Trabzon to establish direct flight connection

Ersin Tatar, the President of Northern Cyprus, recently visited Trabzon, a city situated on the northeastern coast of Turkey along the Black Sea. During his visit, Tatar announced the initiation of direct flights between Northern Cyprus and Trabzon, set to commence in early March 2024.

In a press conference held in Trabzon, Tatar expressed his appreciation for the warm reception he received and emphasized the significance of establishing direct flights from the TRNC to Trabzon.

Tatar highlighted the importance of Trabzon to Northern Cyprus, noting that a substantial number of Trabzon residents relocated to the TRNC following 1974.

He also pointed out that currently, Northern Cyprus is home to approximately 30,000 individuals originally from Trabzon, a figure that continues to grow as more relatives arrive.
