A working group has been created between Azerbaijan and Northern Cyprus
A working group on interparliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and Northern Cyprus was established during the General Assembly of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan on April 5. This decision was positively received in Azerbaijan, Turkey, and the TRNC.
Northern Cyprus President Ersin Tatar expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, while Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz highlighted the unity of Turkey, Azerbaijan, and the TRNC as "three states, one nation."
Javanshir Feyziev, chairman of the working group, described the decision as significant and long-awaited, marking a historic step towards the diplomatic recognition of the TRNC through parliamentary diplomacy. He expressed confidence that this move would enhance interstate relations and establish internationally regulated relations between the states.
Feyziev also emphasized the responsibility of the task, noting that the relationship between Azerbaijan and Northern Cyprus could serve as a model for other Turkic states, with expectations for similar actions from the Turkic republics of Central Asia.
