Northern Cyprus marks the 40th anniversary of the TRNC's establishment

The 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will be commemorated on November 15, 2023, with various ceremonies and events across the nation.

Turkey's Deputy President Cevdet Yilmaz, along with delegations from Turkey and Azerbaijan, will attend the festivities.

The celebrations will commence with a speech by Northern Cyprus President Ersin Tatar at the BRTC at noon, accompanied by a 21-gun salute.

Later, memorial ceremonies are scheduled for 15:00 at Dr. Fazil Küçük's grave and 15:30 at Rauf Raif Denktash's grave.

A parade to celebrate the Republic's 40th anniversary will also take place, starting at 10:00 from the Ministry of National Education and concluding at the Presidential Palace.

The day's festivities will begin with President Ersin Tatar receiving congratulations at 9:00 at the Presidential Palace.

At 9:30, wreaths will be placed at the Ataturk Memorial in Nicosia, followed by flag hoisting, a salute, and the National Anthem, culminating with the signing of the Special Memorial Book.

The official parade on Dr. Fazil Kyuchuk Boulevard will start at 10:00, featuring the National Anthem, an inspection of the ceremonial buildings, and folk festival celebrations.

After message exchanges, President Ersin Tatar will receive flags from Lefke and Erenkoy. The ceremony will proceed with speeches from President Tatar and the Turkish Republic's representative, folk dance shows, and a concert by the Ministry of National Defense's Mechter Band. The official parade will conclude with these events.

At 14:30, the Museum of Turkish Cypriot History, Culture, and National Struggle will open in Lefkoşa Mykahitler.

At 15:45, in front of the Atatürk Memorial in Kyrenia, the Turkish Stars aerobatic team will give a performance.

Before the Turkish Stars' show, "Denizlerdeyiz Amatör Denizciler Derneği (DADD)" and the "Cyprus Turkish Sailing, Motor and Rowing Federation" will greet the TRNC at the Atatürk Memorial from 14:00 to 15:00.

In celebration of the TRNC's 40th anniversary, a "Republican Reception" will take place at the Presidency on the evening of November 15 at 19:00. The "Hymn of the 40th Anniversary of the TRNC" will be unveiled to the public during the reception.

The "Anthem of the 40th Anniversary of the TRNC" will be performed by the Presidential Symphony Orchestra and the TRNC Security Forces Command orchestra.
