TRNC students to receive free tuition at Turkish universities

Starting from the 2024-2025 academic year, students from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) enrolled in Turkish public universities will be exempt from tuition fees, announced Nazım Çavuşoğlu, the Minister of National Education. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on students and their families who struggle with the costs of higher education in Turkey.

"The persistent efforts and negotiations have borne fruit. The President of Turkey has ruled that TRNC students will enjoy the same fee and tuition conditions as their Turkish counterparts," Çavuşoğlu confirmed.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made the announcement on July 20, during the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation, reinforcing Turkey's support for the Turkish Cypriots in all domains, including education.

Çavuşoğlu highlighted the significance of this policy change, which paves the way for TRNC students to pursue successful academic careers without the hindrance of financial constraints.
