In Northern Cyprus, prices have surged by nearly 33% since the year's start

The Northern Cyprus Statistical Institute reported a 4.48% inflation rate for March. Prices have escalated by 32.99% since January, with the annual inflation hitting 83.17%.

The data indicates that last month's most significant price hikes were in utilities: housing, water, electricity, and gas, which increased by 10.03%. Prices in the "Restaurants and Hotels" category rose by 9.44%, and "Other Goods and Services" saw a 7.64% increase.

There was a 6.19% increase in "Education," a 5.53% rise in "Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages," and a 4.69% growth in "Health" costs.

Out of the index's 487 items, prices for most rose from the previous month, while 58 items saw price reductions.

Notable increases were observed in cauliflower, which soared by 164.44%, lettuce by 97.46%, and vehicle inspection fees by 84.91%.

Conversely, watermelon prices fell by 45.30%, melons by 37.13%, and parsley by 31.57%.
