A new campaign has been initiated to enhance the tourism potential of TRNC

The "Island of Cyprus" campaign has resulted in a 40% increase in tourist visits to the northern part of the island over the past six months, with an objective to further double this number.

The tourism promotion strategy for Northern Cyprus was unveiled yesterday in Nicosia at the historic Büyük Han palace.

Spearheaded by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment along with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, the campaign is dedicated to showcasing the cultural values, traditions, and lifestyle of the island. It highlights the TRNC's gastronomy and cultural sites as key seasonal attractions.

The campaign aims to draw tourists from Turkey using internet influencers, social media, and digital marketing.

The advertising campaign's objective is to brand the TRNC as an island nation characterized by its rich culture and hospitable community.

Social media platforms have been established for the campaign and are accessible on Instagram and Facebook under "adakibrisim."

Minister Fikri Ataoğlu mentioned that the advertising campaign has been in progress for nine months.

"We have witnessed a 40% increase in tourist numbers in the last six months. Our goal is to reach a 100% increase within the next six months," he declared.

He believes this target is attainable by increasing flight options, launching new campaigns, and improving maritime services.

Deputy Minister Gökhan Yazgı noted that recent discussions on TRNC tourism development have led to concrete plans for promoting the region both internationally and in Turkey.

Consequently, the advertising campaign was split into two segments: "Ada Kıbrıs" targeting Turkish citizens, and "Visit and Discover Northern Cyprus" aimed at the global audience.
